NH Retaining Nut

Designed with greater thread length to provide greater strength in heavy load situations such as with tapered roller bearings, one of these locknuts may replace the need for two N or TN locknuts between which is mounted a lockwasher.

Tolerances are tighter because this nut is so often used with tapered roller bearings. The most important tolerance - total indicator reading - of runout of the bearing faces to the pitch diameter of the thread is held within .002 for all sizes rather than ranging up to .006 as in the N-AN series. Surface finish of 100 microinches is for both faces in this series, not just the bearing face.

With this series of locknuts a thicker lockwasher (Series WH) is generally used, for it has more strength for the heavy loads in tapered bearing applications
